Our people
Meet our expert lawyers who are dedicated to making life better for our clients.
About Alex
I work as a private client chartered tax advisor, specialising in inheritance tax and the taxation of UK trusts.
I advise clients about their succession and estate planning, as well as the potential mitigation of future inheritance tax on death.
I also provide advice on the tax consequences of certain transactions, for example selling a house or making a distribution to a beneficiary of a trust.
My clients include private individuals and trustees of UK trusts. As well as providing tax advice, I also deal with compliance matters – such as the preparation of annual self-assessment tax returns. A number of my clients have been using Moore Barlow to prepare their tax returns for many years.
I graduated from University of Portsmouth in 2011 with a first class honours degree in accountancy.
I then joined Grant Thornton – after originally spending a year with them during my degree – which is where I trained and qualified as a personal tax advisor. Thereafter, I joined Moore Barlow in October 2017 (then known as Moore Blatch).
I am a big sports fan, in particular cricket, football, snooker and tennis. I support both Southampton Football Club and Hampshire County Cricket Club. I am a season ticket with the former, and a former member with the latter.
I also enjoy watching stand-up comedy and going to the cinema. And I am always happy to receive podcast recommendations.
I do like gadgets and technology, especially in the kitchen.
